Awareness among potential clients

A survey reported in 2016 received replies from 61 of 327 Croatian-based orthopaedic and trauma surgeons (19%). ¹ Respondents were active in research and manuscript writing and expressed strong interest in publishing internationally in English to advance their careers. ¹ Although 38 of 56 respondents (68%) initially claimed familiarity with medical writing, further questions revealed less familiarity with the concept. ¹ Only 11 of 58 (19%) had engaged a medical writer, and they were generally satisfied with language, editing and scientific knowledge. ¹ Medical writers were advised to raise awareness of their services among Croatian orthopaedic and trauma surgeons who might need their expertise. ¹
